Worth the money, in my opinion — perfect rice, fast and fuss-free. As others have pointed out, it’s a bit big for one person — the minimum you can cook is two cups, but it’s great for when you need to cook for a crowd — like last night, when I expected 2 people, but 5 people showed up Now, I don’t cook anything but white rice, so I can’t speak for anyone who cooks brown rice. But, I cook both thai jasmine and indian basmati rice on a regular basis, even occasionally using it for indian beriyani rice — where you cook meat and curry separately, and then put it in the rice cooker when the rice is half done. No problems.
Cosmetically, it’s also held up well. The external color is a grayish white, so none of the yellowing problems one would have with all-white plastic aging. However, the 2 small clear plastic pieces — condensation ‘catcher’ and rice scoop ‘holder’ are now a slightly yellow — instead of clear — transparent plastic.
I’m not sure what the more expensive ‘fuzzy logic’ rice cookers give you, but this model works perfectly for me.
