I was mainly looking for a right size rice cooker which will not only serve our family of 4 (Dad/Mom and 2 kids) daily, but would also be sufficient for 3-4 additional guests as occasionally required. Panasonic SR-G104-450 5-1/2-Cup (uncooked rice) is right for the purpose. Cooks rice evenly with no mess. The only improvement I think Panasonic would have done was to keep the “Warm” indicator light (once the rice is done) Green or some other distinctive color. The “Cook” indicator light is Red, and “Warm” indicator light is Orange, therefore very confusing to distinguish between the two to know if rice is done. Good product overall.

I have owned this rice cooker for about 6 months. The Aroma rice cooker makes perfect rice every time I use it. In addition to it providing great rice every time, the directions that come with the cooker are clear and effective. Although, I have only made 1 and 3 cups of rice at a time, but every time it is excellent. I had always wondered how the rice at Italian, Chinese, Thai, Korean, Japanese and Indian restaurants turned out so good; well, now I know. Any type of rice I toss in it, turns out just like it does at the different ethnic restaurants mentioned above. I have made plain white, brown, and wild rice(black and red grains). I have made rice pilaf, sweet rice(extremely glutenous desert rice), Arborio rice(Italian short to medium grain for risotto), Sushi/Sticky rice(Japanese short grain glutenous rice), Basmati rice(Indian), Cal-rose rice, Botan rice(Korean rice) and Jasmine rice(Thai). All have turned out just like they should without any difficulty.
I have even made Quinoa (alternative to rice from South America), Couscous(Semolina Wheat that are like small spaghetti pellets), and Bulgur(Bulgur Wheat used in Middle Eastern cuisine) in the rice cooker. All three turned out great, but the bulgur was more difficult to make, so it took me a few tries.

I am just an average guy that appreciates it when a company makes a products works well, saves time, and avoids problems by being a trouble free, set and forget unit. Really great product so far.

I had sticker shock when I first saw this product but fell in LOVE and use it at least once a week. I swore by my old rice cooker/steamer and even had a separate crock pot, but when my old rice cooker died-I decided to UPGRADE-and boy did I ever!
I toss all the ingredients in the night before, set the timer and when I wake up for work (which is way too early these days), ta-da like magic everything is ready. This makes mornings a lot easier and meals healthier-no more excuses to eat cafeteria or fast food mystery meat. My only little wish is if it if came with a lid that worked for the metal container inside so I quickly stick the left overs in the fridge.
So get over the sticker shock and fall in love with Aroma’s best kept all in one secret-it pays for itself-and the 20 minutes I get to sleep in.
